Home Church Bible Reading Plan

From January to December, we will be reading portions of Scripture together as a church family. The purpose is for us to grow in our PERSONAL relationship with God as we meditate on and pray over a few verses of Scripture DAILY. Spending personal time with God in prayer and with His Word has the power to transform our minds, change our hearts, and impact our daily lives.

When will you spend one on one time with God? Set a daily time and keep it. Where will you do it? How can you be more awake? Make God a priority. Who will keep you accountable? Partner with someone.

for Scripture
Read the passage of the day in your Bible reading plan. Take time reading and allow God to speak to you. When you are done, look for a verse that particularly spoke to you that day, and write it in your journal.

O for Observation
Write down things you observe. Who is the writer and the audience? What does the passage say about God? What are the obvious ,truths? What is commanded? Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and reveal Jesus to you.

A for Application
Personalize what you have read, by asking yourself how it applies to your life right now. Perhaps it is instruction, encouragement, revelation of a new promise, or corrections for a particular area of your life. Write how this Scripture can apply to you today.

P for Prayer
This can be as simple as asking God to help you use this Scripture, or it may be a greater insight on what He may be revealing to you. Remember, prayer is a two-way conversation, so be sure to listen to what God has to say! Finally, write out your prayer. After your done writing your prayer, continue to spend time in prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to speak to you.
